What are the responsibilities and job description for the Secondary ELAR Teacher position at Somerville High School?
Somerville Independent School District is a rural, 2A school district located near Somerville Lake, in beautiful Burleson County. We have apporximately 540 students and our facilities are up to date with the latest technology in every classroom. We offer small class sizes, assigned mentors for first time teachers, and lesson planning with the help of instructional coaches. Somerville High School is a 8th-12th grade secondary campus. There is a $3,000 stipend for ELAR for secondary.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
Knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices for online learning
Strong knowledge of Internet and web-related technology
Ability to instruct students using a variety of technology applications and platforms
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to develop relationships and maintain consistent contact with student, parents, and colleagues
Ability to support students with computer set-up, navigation, and technology issues
Experience:
Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
