What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2025 Summer Programs - Explore: Family Liaison position at Somerville Public Schools?
Job Goal: Summer programming at Capuano offers experiences for children with little to no prior preschool experience, or who would benefit from summer programming as they transition to kindergarten.
During Summer Explore, students learn readiness skills and make friends to support a smooth entry into kindergarten. They will have a daily routine that includes free breakfast and lunch, learning in literacy and math, time to play, and extra fun activities. Parents can also get involved in activities to help connect what students learn at home and school.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Parent/Guardian English Classes Program.
- Familiarity with the Somerville Public Schools and the Somerville community.
- A demonstrated commitment to parent involvement and parent leadership development.
- Ability to support bilingual/multicultural communication with diverse students and families.
Responsibilities:
- Outreach to families during registration
- Support program attendance
- Co-plan and deliver family engagement activities with the Director of Summer Explore and the Director of Early Education and Care.
- Support resource and referral for families in need.

Monday thru Friday, 5 days per week
8:00 am - 2:45 pm
Mandatory Orientation and Professional Development Days: June 25-26
