Job Goal : The Itinerant Lending Library Coordinator will oversee the Early Education and Care's Lending Library housed in the Somerville Early Education Department offices at the Capuano Early Childhood Center. The position requires travel within the city to pick up and drop off lending library materials to childcare centers in the Somerville Partnership for Young Children and public preschool classrooms.
The Itinerant Lending Library Coordinator Position is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated team player who would like to contribute talent and skills to the Somerville Early Childhood Department to support the implementation of a comprehensive, integrated, mixed-delivery early education system in Somerville, ensuring success for all students entering kindergarten.
Qualifications / Requirements :
- One year of post high school education preferred
- Driver's license and regular access to an automobile for travel to-from multiple locations in Somerville
- Experience working with children 3-5 years of age in school or center-based settings
- Flexible, collaborative, and active contributor to a positive and creative work environment.
- Technological facility with Google documents, Excel, Word, etc.
- Possesses a desire to collaborate with others.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- A second language besides English is helpful (especially Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole).
