Brand new Los Angeles restaurant seeking an EXPEDITOR to work with the culinary team to create a James Beard / Michelin experience. Serving contemporary American fare.
An EXPEDITOR works to coordinate both the Kitchen and the service team to efficiently and accurately deliver food from the kitchen to the guest, monitor timing and pacing and advise servers and the chef of any changes.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Understand and perform to the expectations of the Somerville Service, Food, Beverage and Wine manuals.
- Welcome all guests and ensure they are given responsive, professional and gracious service at all times.
- Carry plates to and from the dining room. Present dishes to the table and explain the dish’s composition.
- Liaison with the server to ensure communication at all times about wants and needs of the guests.
- Be attentive to guest requests, dietary restrictions and allergies. Inform the kitchen and management as appropriate.
- Communicate information to a Manager in a prompt fashion which will allow the team members to respond as necessary and work together as a team.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Relevant Work Experience:
- 3 to 4 years of service experience
Certification/Achievements:
- Computer knowledge
- POS micros, MS excel and MS Word capabilities preferred
Communication Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
- Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to stand/ walk for prolonged periods of time.
