Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Warehouse Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our warehouse for a fast-paced wedding and event design company. This role is essential for ensuring that all event materials, décor, furniture, and supplies are managed efficiently, safely, and in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse management, inventory control, and logistics, as well as a passion for working in the event planning industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management: Oversee the accurate and efficient tracking of all inventory, including furniture, décor, lighting, linens, and other event materials. Ensure inventory levels are regularly updated and well-maintained in the warehouse management system.
- Warehouse Organization: Organize the warehouse to optimize storage space and streamline the retrieval of event items. Maintain clear labeling and classification systems for easy access and inventory checks.
- Logistics Coordination: Work closely with the event planning and logistics teams to ensure all required items are prepared, packed, and delivered on time for each event. Coordinate scheduling and transportation of materials to and from event locations.
- Team Management: Supervise a team of warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient operations. Delegate tasks and set clear expectations for safety and productivity.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on all items to ensure they are in excellent condition and meet company standards. Handle any repairs, cleaning, or maintenance needs for event materials.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce all safety procedures and regulations within the warehouse, including proper handling of equipment, lifting techniques, and compliance with safety guidelines.
- Event Setup Support: Assist with the physical preparation and set-up of event items, ensuring all materials are delivered and staged according to the client’s specifications. On occasion, assist in the breakdown and collection of items after events.
- Budget & Cost Control: Monitor and manage warehouse-related expenses, including supplies, equipment maintenance, and labor costs. Work with the operations team to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Vendor Relations: Build and maintain relationships with external vendors, suppliers, and rental companies to ensure timely delivery and quality of materials.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in warehouse management, logistics, or a similar role. Experience in the events or wedding industry is highly desirable.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and find efficient solutions.
- Proficiency in warehouse management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and barcode scanning tools.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform physical tasks related to the setup and breakdown of event materials.
- Certifications: Forklift certification and OSHA safety training are a plus.
