What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher of Spanish as a Second Language position at Somos-Plymouth Language Program?
The Somos-Plymouth Language Program (SPLP) seeks Part-time Spanish teachers to teach in-person Spanish (introductory, intermediate, and continuing levels) to adults in Lawrence and Douglas County starting August 15, 2025.
Teachers should hold a BA or formal training in second language acquisition and teaching, and/or show evidence of commensurate experience and teaching effectiveness.
General description:
Prepare and teach two or four hours of Spanish classes per week (Level 1 and/or Level 2) ($50 per hour of class)
Attend three paid mandatory trainings, two before the Fall semester, and one before the Spring semester.
Meet regularly with language coordinators and teachers to assure the proper articulation of the program.
