Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Sr. Claims Counsel, Lawyers Professional Liability in our North America Insurance Claims team.
Location : This position may be based out of our New York, NY, Purchase NY, Garden City NY, Morristown NJ, Los Angeles CA or Miami, FLoffice locations. We strive for collaboration which is why we offer a work environment where our employees thrive and develop long lasting careers.

What you'll be doing :
- Handle a full case load of Professional Liability matters (mostly Lawyers Professional Liability claims)
- Review and analyze loss notices and claims-related documents.
- Examine applicable insurance policy and make coverage determinations. Make substantive claim decisions for Lawyers Professional Liability claims and as needed on other lines of business.
- Analyze potential liability and exposure presented by matters to allow for timely reserving. Ensure timely and accurate reporting of exposure to underwriting and management.
- Support underwriting with legal review and policy drafting.
- Attend industry conferences, possibly as a speaker / presenter and / or publishing on current claim trends and issues.
What you'll bring :
Salary Range : $110,000 - $185,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
