The CAT Modeler will work with our growing CAT team to determine and present view of the catastrophe risk and assessment for global individual accounts. Contributions include analyzing individual accounts using vendor models and internal tools, assisting with underwriting decisions as wells as work in functional groups to help refine internal view of catastrophe risk, CAT aggregation, portfolio management and reporting.

Our Business, Your Impact, Our Opportunity
What you’ll be doing:
- Independently review and analyze individual commercial accounts using vendor models, internal tools, and mapping software: scrubbing data, data reconciliation, running catastrophe analyses, peer review of model results and interpreting and communicating results effectively.
- Work with peers, underwriters, UAs, and central operation team to capture in-force data accurately and in a timely manner: understand and interpret bound terms and conditions to accurately reflect in monthly aggregation and reporting.
- Contribute towards monthly aggregations, portfolio roll ups and reporting.
- Assist in monitoring and tracking exposures during the hurricane seasons. Gather necessary data (from internal databases, public/private/government websites and media) and documentations for the business unit leaders, CAT portfolio managers and claims team to estimate the potential losses arising out of cat events.
- Interact and coordinate with international vendor outsourcing team who rigorously performs company’s data cleansing. Upload and download data onto an external portal, interpret policy, code the insurance layer/deductible structures, complete data quality and risk analytics.
- Attend catastrophe Modeling conferences to understand recent events and upcoming model changes and communicating updates and findings to stake holders.
- Manage projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Engineering or related quantitative fields.
- 0-2 years of experience with AIR/RMS CAT Modeling and database management.
- Strong MS Office suite skills, particularly advanced Excel skills required, working experience with MS SQL required.
- Effective written and oral communication skills in reaching both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent quantitative and analytical abilities.
- Must be detail oriented with the mindset to validate results, question inconsistencies, present possible alternatives, and back up opinions.
- Basic knowledge of Commercial Lines insurance, coverage forms, policy structure and reinsurance.

Salary : $80,000 - $135,000
