Description :
We are looking for a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to create custom one-of-a-kind speaker solutions. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be a member of the James Custom Engineering Team, working with Integrators, Product Managers, and other Engineers. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible with the initial design and feasibility of custom products. This role is customer-facing and will require not only design skills in CAD, but also a passion and an ability to work with internal and external teams. The work is exciting, fast-paced and involves communicating directly with key customers and internal leadership to gather initial mechanical and performance requirements and present design concepts.
How you'll do it :
- Rapidly design concepts to prove function and overall feature-set
- Create shop drawings for made-to-order soundbars
- Work with internal manufacturing team members and outside contractors to meet deadlines and fit / function requirements
- Participate in Customer Meetings to capture product requirements and collaborate on initial design concepts
- Participate in Design reviews and incorporate design feedback into design revisions
- Deliver completed mechanical designs to Fabrication team
- Support the product testing & production efforts
- Provide input and support into ECN changes and modifications as required
- Works closely with key leaders internally in sales, marketing, product and engineering teams

Requirements :
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or related degree
Ability to tackle projects in sprints : rapidly design, prototype and deliver feasible designs in 1-2 week period time frames
Ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Self-Starter with a whatever-it-takes mentality to meet deadlines and customer needs
Experience with audio and speaker systems
1-2 years' experience with 2D and 3D CAD (Solidworks, AutoCAD)
Investigative mind inclined toward developing practical solutions to real-world problems
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment
Experience in customer service roles
Compensation details : 56000-65000 Yearly Salary
