Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other educational professionals to create and review IEPs.
- Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals, making adjustments as necessary.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs in both inclusive and self-contained settings.
- Design and deliver differentiated instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
- Utilize evidence-based interventions and teaching strategies to enhance student learning and achievement.
- Conduct formal and informal assessments to evaluate students' academic, social, and behavioral needs.
- Interpret assessment results to guide instructional planning and decision-making.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and progress.
- Work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and administration to ensure a cohesive approach to student education.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP meetings, to discuss student progress and develop action plans.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to support a safe and productive learning environment.
- Adapt the classroom environment to meet the physical, sensory, and cognitive needs of students.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education and instructional strategies.
- Participate in school-wide training and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to special education.
- Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of IEPs, assessments, progress reports, and any required reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid California teaching credential with an Education Specialist certification.
- Demonstrated experience working with students with diverse learning needs, preferably in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and instructional strategies for students with disabilities.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently.

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
