Education Specialist

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other educational professionals to create and review IEPs.
• Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals, making adjustments as necessary.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students with special needs in both inclusive and self-contained settings.
• Design and deliver differentiated instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
• Utilize evidence-based interventions and teaching strategies to enhance student learning and achievement.
• Conduct formal and informal assessments to evaluate students' academic, social, and behavioral needs.
• Interpret assessment results to guide instructional planning and decision-making.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student performance and progress.
• Work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and administration to ensure a cohesive approach to student education.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP meetings, to discuss student progress and develop action plans.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
• Implement effective classroom management strategies to support a safe and productive learning environment.
• Adapt the classroom environment to meet the physical, sensory, and cognitive needs of students.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education and instructional strategies.
• Participate in school-wide training and professional development opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to special education.
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of IEPs, assessments, progress reports, and any required reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid California teaching credential with an Education Specialist certification.
• Demonstrated experience working with students with diverse learning needs, preferably in a school setting.
• Strong knowledge of special education laws, IEP development, and instructional strategies for students with disabilities.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
