Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring adherence to US GAAP. This role will lead the month-end close process, supervise accounting staff, and drive process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operational accounting, experience in a fast-paced software environment, and a preference for candidates with Big 4 public accounting experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-Day Accounting Operations: Oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, accruals, and reconciliations. Ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Month-End and Quarter-End Close: Lead and manage the close process, ensuring the accuracy of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement preparation. Perform variance analysis and ensure completeness of financial data.
- General Ledger Oversight: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, ensuring proper classification of transactions and adherence to internal controls.
- Team Supervision & Development: Manage and mentor accounting staff, providing leadership, training, and professional development. Ensure team members meet deadlines and maintain high-quality financial reporting.
- Financial Reporting & Audit Support: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with US GAAP. Support external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Revenue Recognition & Technical Accounting: Ensure accurate revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess the accounting treatment of complex transactions.
- Process Improvement & Systems Implementation: Identify and implement process efficiencies, automation, and system enhancements to improve the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with FP&A, legal, and other departments to align financial operations with business objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition).
- Hands-on experience in managing daily accounting functions, general ledger, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Supervisory experience leading and mentoring accounting teams.
- Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Big 4 public accounting experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or equivalent certification.
- SaaS or software industry experience, particularly with multi-entity and multi-currency environments.
- Experience with ERP system implementations and process improvements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
