The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining and updating financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, processing payroll, and assisting with financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.


This is a Contract-to-Hire opportunity.


Responsibilities:

  • Record Financial Transactions: Accurately record all business transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.
  • Maintain General Ledger: Update and manage the general ledger, ensuring that all financial entries are properly categorized.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and receipts in a timely manner. Monitor outstanding balances and follow up with clients or vendors as needed.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are accurately reflected in the company’s financial records.
  • Payroll Processing: Calculate and process employee payroll, ensuring all deductions and benefits are properly accounted for.
  • Prepare Financial Statements: Generate balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports to provide insights into the company’s financial status.
  • Tax Preparation: Assist with preparing tax returns and ensuring compliance with relevant tax regulations.
  • Maintain Financial Records: Organize and maintain all financial documents in an easily accessible manner, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Assist with Audits: Provide necessary documentation and support during internal and external audits.
  • Budgeting Support: Assist with budgeting by tracking expenses and advising on cost-saving measures.
  • Communication: Communicate with clients, vendors, and internal staff regarding financial matters.


Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounting Clerk, or in a similar role.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks online/desktop
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Detail-oriented and able to work with numbers accurately.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.


Working Conditions:

  • Full-time in office 8:30-5:00
  • Some positions may require flexible working hours during peak times (e.g., tax season or financial year-end).


Compensation: $35-$45/hour

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
