Our client is looking for a Director of Cloud who will report directly to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and work collaboratively with Development teams and other key stakeholders to build and maintain client’s cloud infrastructure. The role will oversee the design, implementation, and management of advanced cloud solutions, focusing on high-impact initiatives such as migrating to Virtual WAN (VWAN), implementing Azure Landing Zones, and spearheading future architecture and implementation projects. They are seeking a forward-thinking leader with an AI mindset and a passion for leveraging cutting-edge technology to drive innovation and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure Design and Implementation
- Architect and build scalable, secure, and efficient cloud infrastructure, including virtual networks (e.g., VPN tunnels, VWAN, Azure Landing Zones), storage systems, compute instances, and load balancers.
- Develop and maintain robust architecture for future scalability and innovation.
Application Migration and Connectivity
- Plan and execute the design and build-out of application connectivity to customer networks.
- Collaborate with Customer IT personnel to configure, test, and support VPN tunnels between Azure Cloud and Customer/Partner networks.
Cloud Security Management
- Implement and enforce security policies to protect cloud data and applications.
- Manage resource groups, firewalls, and conditional access to ensure a secure environment.
Performance Optimization and Cost Management
- Monitor cloud performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations.
- Analyze cloud usage and implement cost-saving strategies.
Automation and Disaster Recovery
- Develop automation scripts (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to streamline cloud management tasks.
- Design and implement robust disaster recovery strategies for cloud environments.
Innovation and Continuous Learning
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and related technologies.
- Drive innovation by exploring and integrating emerging technologies into the organization’s infrastructure.
Troubleshooting and Support
- Identify and resolve technical issues related to cloud services.
- Provide guidance and support to teams on best practices and technical solutions.
Skills and Experience
Required:
- 5 years of experience in cloud engineering with a focus on Azure Cloud.
- Experience managing, leading, and building teams.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, including subnetting, VPNs, VWANs, Azure Landing Zones, and firewalls.
- Experience with cloud architecture design and application connectivity.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation.
- Knowledge of operating systems, particularly Windows.
- Expertise in implementing security best practices for cloud environments.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities.
- Ability to be on-site in Paoli, PA 2-3 days/week.
Preferred:
- Experience managing large-scale cloud migration projects.
- Familiarity with AI-driven tools and frameworks.
- A track record of leveraging innovative technologies to optimize cloud infrastructure.
Compensation: $150,000 annually bonus
