Soni's client is seeking a SVP/Director of Total Rewards to join their HR team. This organization is a large financial services firm with a solid credit rating and a stable outlook. The Director of Total Rewards collaborates closely with senior leadership, including key executives and the Board. The Director is responsible for creating and managing a holistic rewards strategy that supports the company’s goals. This role involves overseeing various aspects of compensation, benefits, and payroll, as well as HR systems, when necessary.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, management, and continuous evaluation of executive compensation programs, including base salary, incentives, long-term equity plans, and variable compensation, ensuring competitiveness through benchmarking and market analysis.
- Partner with the executive team and Board of Directors to develop compensation strategies aligned with business objectives, DEI commitment, and compensation philosophy, while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the external executive compensation consultant, and oversee activities such as proxy preparation, Compensation Discussion & Analysis (CD&A), CEO pay ratio calculation, and change-in-control (CIC) tables.
- Advise on executive job offers, including base salary, short-term and long-term incentives, and other benefits, and provide strategic input during the annual compensation review process, including audits, reporting, and analytics.
- Manage the design, administration, and communication of employee benefits programs (health insurance, retirement, wellness), ensuring competitiveness and employee engagement through regular reviews and recommendations.
- Oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance with labor laws, while leading initiatives to improve payroll efficiency and technology solutions across the organization. Manage payroll operations for the holding company and subsidiaries, ensuring accurate reconciliations, SOX certifications, and audit support.
- Collaborate with HR, IT, and internal teams to ensure the HRIS supports Total Rewards processes and manage system enhancements, data integrity, and integration efforts post-M&A.
- Draft and implement policy changes in collaboration with external counsel and ensure effective communication across internal teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 15 years of progressive HR experience with 5 years in compensation and/or benefits, including leadership in total rewards strategy and program administration.
- Proven experience in developing and executing compensation and benefits strategies with a strong track record of vendor management and managing budgets across multiple functional areas.
- Experience with M&A due diligence, integrating compensation and benefits programs post-acquisition.
- Expertise in compensation and benefits best practices, related regulations (FLSA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, DOL), and knowledge of flexible benefit programs.
- Strong proficiency in HR technology, including Workday and HRIS integration, with expert Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, charts).
- Exceptional communication, analytical, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization, including executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
- CCP certification preferred; SHRM-CP, PHR certifications preferred.
Compensation: up to $225,000 a year
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
