We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/Paralegal to support our attorneys and play an integral role in the success of our cases. - Collaborate with attorneys to develop legal arguments, motions, and other case filings.
- Conduct thorough research using existing files and other resources to support pending cases.
- Draft discovery demands and responses (e.g., Requests for Production, Interrogatories, Requests for Admissions).
- Process deposition transcripts and prepare trial/arbitration hearing binders.
- Assist with drafting various legal documents, including motions, proposed orders, and evidentiary objections.
- E-file documents in State, Federal, and Appellate Courts, adhering to local rules.
- Prepare timelines and demonstrative exhibits for trial.
- Review and prepare exhibits for motions and discovery responses.
- Assist with legal correspondence and document production, including redactions and Bates stamping.
- Manage Preservation of Evidence Letters and Document Request Letters.
- Perform legal research via Lexis Nexis and conduct social media searches.
- Process HIPAA authorizations and follow up with providers for medical records.
- Review, summarize, and analyze medical records to aid in case defense.
- Provide additional support as needed to ensure smooth office operations.
- At least 4 years of law firm experience, particularly in litigation.
- E-filing experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Team-oriented and committed to providing exemplary customer service.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with legal terminology and principles.
- Ability to analyze legal documents with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude.
- $34-$37 per hour, depending on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications.
