Imagine being a Carhop, like an astronaut, but instead of space, you work in a drive-in restaurant with out-of-this-world food! Your responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all menu items meet operational standards
- Greeting guests with a smile and polite manner
- Making accurate change efficiently for restaurant guests
- Carrying and balancing trays weighing up to 25 pounds
- Serving guests in a timely manner
- Clearing trays from guests' cars
Sonic Drive-In restaurants may employ Skating Carhops:
- Skating Carhops are unique to our brand and bring a special 'surprise and delight' element to the guest experience.
- They must complete the SONIC Skating Training Program.
- After completing this program, Skating Carhops perform these duties while roller skating. Our Skating Carhop servers say it's 'a blast' with great tips!
Requirements:
Carhop/Skating Carhop server requirements:
- Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Flexibility in all situations based on business needs
- Effective communication skills; basic math and reading skills
- Willingness to abide by appearance, uniform, and hygiene standards at SONIC
Skating Carhop server requirements:
- Successful completion of assigned SONIC Skating Training Program
- Roller skate proficiency on various surfaces when delivering food
- Ability to continuously stand, balance, and carry a tray, and sweep while roller skating
- General knowledge and understanding of the restaurant industry or retail operations preferred, but not required
