Job Summary
The Lead Molecular Technologist is a key member of our team, responsible for leading technical transfers, coordinating training and competency assessments, and participating in process improvement workgroups. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical transfers of new assays from R&D staff into the clinical laboratory.
- Coordinate and conduct training and competency assessments.
- Participate in process improvement workgroups as assigned.
- Create and validate in-house control materials.
- Analyze data and author detailed reports and summaries.
- Monitor laboratory data systems, conduct statistical metric analysis, and make recommendations for process improvement to management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science.
- At least two years of experience in the molecular discipline.
- Certified as Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, or Molecular Biology by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
- Advanced scientific methodology knowledge base/troubleshooting.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to collect and analyze data using graphs, tables, charts, and mathematical calculations.
- Advanced computer knowledge including MS Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Ability to obtain proficiency in basic VBA coding within 1 year of position.
Work Environment:
This role will work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will be able to handle multiple priorities, work independently, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
