Join Our Team as a Core Laboratory Medical Technologist I!
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Core Laboratory Medical Technologist I to join our talented team! In this dynamic role, you will perform moderate and high complexity clinical assays, contribute to troubleshooting processes, and assist in training new staff members. You will play a critical part in ensuring accuracy and maintaining quality in the laboratory while supporting various administrative tasks. This position adheres strictly to departmental policies and procedures, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
Shift : Tuesday - Saturday, 9 : 30am - 6pm
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform moderate and high complexity clinical assays following established SOPs.
- Adhere to departmental and OSHA policies, ensuring quality control and safety.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and actively participate in laboratory functions.
- Ensure specimen integrity through proper handling and processing.
- Analyze, review, and report test results, taking appropriate remedial actions when necessary.
- Enter and verify data in the clinical laboratory information management system (LIMS).
- Conduct and document Quality Control assessments effectively.
- Facilitate peer shadowing for training and skill enhancement.
- Assist in laboratory housekeeping and equipment maintenance.
- Participate enthusiastically in various duties, ensuring completion within designated timeframes.
- Document and file reports associated with daily production runs.
- Engage in the laboratory's continuing education programs.
- Foster a culture of quality, respect, and cooperation among colleagues.
- Address daily workflow issues and provide solutions to technical problems.
- Collaborate with production leadership and vendors to troubleshoot any reagent or instrument concerns.
- Participate in instrument maintenance and routine quality checks.
- Assist in supply management, ensuring inventory accuracy and proper usage of reagents.
- Train new personnel as needed and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Edit and maintain the accuracy of technical SOPs as required.
- Support internal audits and assist with validation runs for new assays.
