Summary: The Sonnenalp Hotel is excited to offer a hands-on Summer Food & Beverage Internship, perfect for those looking to gain valuable experience in the hospitality industry. As an F&B Intern, you will play a key role in ensuring seamless service while working alongside our skilled restaurant team. Youll assist in everything from dining room preparation to food running, all while delivering exceptional guest experiences in line with the Sonnenalps high standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up & Prep: Assist in setting the restaurant for service, including opening, closing, and weekly side work duties.
- Dining Room Support: Clear and reset tables efficiently between guest arrivals. Ensure the restaurant stays organized and welcoming.
- Food Runner: Support servers by running food to tables and ensuring orders are delivered correctly and promptly.
- Guest Interaction: Collaborate with Hosts/Hostesses to greet and seat guests, and assist in keeping guests' drinks and water refreshed throughout their meals.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with Servers and Bartenders to provide a seamless experience by assisting with food and beverage service.
- Stocking & Maintenance: Maintain service stations with necessary supplies, polish glassware, silverware, and flatware.
- Standards Compliance: Uphold the prestigious Sonnenalp standards at all times, ensuring every guest interaction is positive and professional.
- Ongoing Learning: Participate in F&B training and seminars (MDP classes, wine training) to enhance your knowledge and skills.
Experience &Special Skills
- Personality & Teamwork: A friendly and approachable demeanor with the ability to work well in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Basic F&B Knowledge: Familiarity with fine dining table setup is a plus, but not required.
- Strong Organizational Skills: You should be detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks at once, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
- Physical Endurance: Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs regularly, stand for long shifts (up to 8 hours), and work in variable temperatures and noise levels.
- Flexibility: Ability to bend, stretch, and reach while maintaining a positive attitude and professional appearance.
