What Your Day Will Look Like:
- Apply and refine existing machine learning models to support daily operations, capacity planning, demand forecasting, and long-term infrastructure strategies.
- Design and deploy predictive analytics solutions using statistical methods and machine learning algorithms to solve complex operational and business problems.
- Continuously evaluate and improve models by identifying enhancement opportunities in methodology, performance, and scalability.
- Conduct outcome reconciliation to compare predicted and actual performance, uncover trends, and recommend data-driven improvements.
- Identify and integrate new data sources to improve model accuracy and support proactive maintenance, safety monitoring, and energy usage forecasting.
- Assess the quality of new data-gathering techniques and apply advanced analytics to reveal system patterns, dependencies, and risks.
- Support data integrity and normalization initiatives across multiple platforms, ensuring accuracy and consistency in mission-critical data sets.
- Perform root cause analysis on operational challenges, propose evidence-based solutions, and implement strategies that improve system reliability and cost efficiency.
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau or similar tools to track KPIs such as energy consumption, outage trends, and pipeline performance.
- Collaborate with external consultants on model development and evaluation, and offer expert feedback on improvement recommendations.
- Lead investigations of system anomalies and critical findings, recommending workflow or forecast modifications to optimize performance.
- Translate technical insights into actionable strategies, helping departments across the organization make informed decisions based on robust analytics.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies in data science, utility analytics, and energy forecasting to keep our systems innovative and resilient.
What We'll Need to See:
Educational/Experience Level:
- Bachelor's degree in MIS / Data Analytics, mathematics, engineering, statistics, or a related field and three (3) years of relevant experience. Strong mathematical background with the ability to perform analysis involving statistical methods and regression analysis. Master’s degree preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge and/or working experience with regression analysis, predictive analytics, forecasting and machine learning algorithms
- Hands on technical experience using Python, Jupyter Notebook, R, advanced SQL queries, Snowflake, VBA, and/or other similar programming languages for data analysis or machine learning purposes
- Knowledge of business intelligence tools including Tableau, Alteryx, Azure Machine Learning, and/or PowerApps.
- Basic understanding of economics, finance and/or energy market topics
- Requires the ability to perform mathematical analyses involving ratios, percentages and simple statistical methods
- Background in the natural gas industry preferred
- Requires working knowledge of various software applications to create and maintain documents, reports, spreadsheets, and/or graphics
Compensation Information:
- Base Salary: $105,000 up to $120,000 depending on experience
- Annual Bonus: 10%
