Area Controller Job Description
In order to support a newly formed global packaging company with annual revenues exceeding $1 billion, we are seeking an Area Controller to oversee the financial operations and ensuring the accuracy of the financial reporting within the designated geographic area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the financial operations within the assigned area, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective financial management.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.
- Collaborate with other departments to support business operations and strategic initiatives.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial efficiency and accuracy.
- Manage cash flow, financial planning, and risk management activities within the area.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with process improvement and change management initiatives.
Compensation:
The annual base salary range for this role is from $116,160 to $130,680, plus an annual target bonus of 7.5% of base salary.
