Machine Operator II - 2nd Shift

Position: Machine Operator II - CAPE LINE

Location: Hartselle, AL

Pay Rate: $20.44 .75 Shift Diff

Shift: 2nd Shift

Responsibilities:

• Operate stave making equipment including but not limited to; saw, sanders, splitters, screws, nails, tacks, molds, glue spreader, clamps, etc
• Inspect products at each stage of manufacturing process to ensure they meet customer specifications.
• Troubleshoot equipment as needed.
• Adjust machine settings based on product thickness and other variables.
• Set up and operate various types of machines used to cut, bend, form, and assemble wood staves.
• Stack finished staves according to size/weight/grade/customer requirements.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain a safe, clean work area.
• Wear protective gear such as earplugs, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Ability to read, write, comprehend simple instructions and do basic math.
• Previous experience working with power tools or machinery preferred.
• Physical demands include standing, walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying of up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs., unassisted, to waist level.
• Availability to work overtime as necessary.
• Able to work with adhesives, solvents, chemicals, dyes, pigments, paints, oils, resins, or other substances.
• Knowledge of raw materials, products, production processes, quality control, and safety procedures.
• Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft Office programs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
