Job Summary

The Team Leader will be responsible for supervising all production operations in assigned areas of responsibility to ensure maximum productivity and quality standards are met on a daily basis. The Team Leader will also assist the Plant Manager and Operations Management team members as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment by promoting safety awareness among employees and complying with established safety procedures.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as waste, downtime, and labor productivity to identify areas for improvement.
• Supervise up to 60 hourly employees and provide guidance, training, and feedback to help them improve their skills and perform at high levels.
• Collaborate with other departments, including Quality Control and Maintenance, to resolve production issues and implement process improvements.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment and products to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Work closely with the Plant Manager and Operations Management team members to develop and implement strategies to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Coordinate with maintenance staff to schedule and prioritize repairs to minimize downtime.
• Assist in the training and development of hourly employees, providing feedback and coaching to help them improve their skills and advance in their careers.
• Fill in for absent or unavailable management personnel as needed.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum three years of experience in manufacturing or operations management.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move around the plant frequently.
• Flexibility to work any shift.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred but not required.
