Collaborate with the child’s team regarding behavior plan for student.
Implements behavioral support plans for assigned student.
Assists student with the daily schedule in the classroom and daily activities along with classmates.
Help student with sensory needs and/or breaks when needed.
Provide student with rewards/motivators, times, visuals, and anything else to make their day successful.
Follow the teacher’s activities.
Interact effectively with co-workers and students.
Attend staff meetings.
Collect IEP and/or behavior data as outlined by the child’s team.
Actively participate with other students in the classroom when assigned student is independently engaged or absent.
Check in with site director for daily duties when assigned student is absent.
Be present at work in order to provide consistency of services.
Arrive to work on time; punctually attend and actively participate in all required activities, meetings, and trainings.
Be a respectful, cooperative, and reliable team member and participant in program activities.
Project a professional work image, both in dress and manner.
Demonstrate familiarity with employment policies and performance standards.
Assist classroom teacher to assist as a paraprofessional when staff are out if needed.
At times, may need to help to make visuals/materials for teachers.
Go on field trips, as needed, for extra support.
Requirements:
Minimum of a high school diploma. 4-year degree in related field preferred.
The ability to establish positive relationships with co-workers and parents and students.
Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communications skills.
