Sonoma Milling Co. Is looking for highly motivated candidates to work in the lumber industry. Established in 1979 we are a family-owned company located in Healdsburg, CA that takes pride in representing ourselves as the most diverse lumber remanufacturing plant in the Western United States. We manufacture a large variety of lumber products for both the industrial and residential industries. As part of our team you will have the opportunity to operate a wide variety of machinery, produce a large variety of products, and learn new skills that will help broaden your knowledge to further your career in the lumber industry.
We are looking for individuals who are very motivated and passionate about their work. Prior experience in a fast paced setting is recommended. However, if you have knowledge or have worked in a high-production setting in a different field, then we would like to hear from you as well! This is physical labor and does require lifting/stacking lumber.
Employees who are willing to learn can be trained on machinery.
Pay
New employees will be hired on at $18-$20/hr. There will be a grace period of 3-4 weeks where we will assess performance, attendance, and skills. If a new hire exceeds our expectations, we will review the salary and adjust accordingly. There is very competitive pay and lot of opportunity for somebody who is seeking a long-term career!
Responsibilities
- Read and follow instructions on work orders to fulfill orders accurately.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to ensure product quality.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and adhere to safety standards in the manufacturing facility.
- Provide input on product development and efficiency.
- Maintain a very clean and organized workspace.
Qualifications
- Must have at least 3 years of prior experience in production.
- Know how to use a tape measure and calipers.
- Knowledge of quality control standards and basic math skills for accurate measurements.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other factory equipment safely.
- Understanding of material handling and assembly line processes.
