Job Description

SUPERVISOR

Principal or Assistant Principal, Classroom supervision by Teacher

SUMMARY

Under supervision, to assist and support the teacher by carrying out delegated activities

and assignments in the instructional and clerical duties of the classroom.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATIONAL

High School Diploma or equivalent
Instructional Aide Certificate
Current First Aid and CPR Certificates preferred
Applicable NCLB Requirements

PHYSICAL

Good speech

Good general health

Normal vision and hearing

Tidy appearance

Ability to lift, carry, push and / or pull objects not to exceed 25 pounds

Ability to stand, stoop, reach, and bend and work from a ladder

Ability to supervise students outdoors in a variety of weather conditions for

extended periods of time

PERSONAL

Punctual and demonstrates good attendance

Dedicated, enthusiastic, patient, understanding and have a genuine interest in

children

Ability to serve as a role model through appearance, attitude and proper use of

language

Ability to follow and give clear instructions

Ability to speak with a clear and pleasant voice

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Ability to exercise tact, diplomacy and good judgment in dealing with people

Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with students and adults

Ability to provide necessary physical care and emotional support to students

Job Description Paraprofessional

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To work with individual students, small groups or an entire class, motivating them

to participate in a learning environment.

2. To plan, organize and present an activity to students upon request of teacher.

3. Bring to the attention of his / her supervisor any special problems that arise with

individuals or groups of students.

Valid California Driver's License

High school graduate or equivalent

AA Degree or Paraprofessional Certificate preferred but not required
