We are seeking a part-time Clinical Laboratory Assistant to join our team in Loveland, Colorado. This role will involve assisting technical lab staff with clinical lab assistant and phlebotomy duties, including specimen collection, preparation, and testing.
About the Role:
This position reports to department leadership and takes direction from higher-level technical personnel. Key responsibilities include processing patient samples, performing waived and/or limited moderate complexity testing, and maintaining laboratory equipment. The successful candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, quality focus, and effective communication skills.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Specimen Processing: Collect, process, and prepare patient samples for analytical testing, ensuring correct patient and specimen identification and integrity.
2. Quality Control: Perform quality control checks on testing as directed by technical staff, basic troubleshooting, and communicate technical concerns to technical staff.
3. Equipment Maintenance: Perform maintenance activities on laboratory equipment as directed, promoting efficient operations and minimizing downtime.
4. Financial Management: Contribute to departmental financial responsibilities through appropriate use of supplies and materials, and participate in initiatives to reduce costs and improve service.
5. Customer Service: Communicate effectively and courteously with internal and external customers, promoting positive communications that enhance teamwork.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required.
- 18 years or older if performing phlebotomy.
- Dependent on department/location, valid state driver's license required.
- Phlebotomy/CLA certification may be required.
- Previous clinical laboratory experience.
- Successful completion of a laboratory assistant program.
- Basic knowledge of specimen requirements and handling.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
