Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in laboratory science and experience working in a medical laboratory setting. Key responsibilities include:
- Performing testing in an accurate and timely manner, including startup, calibration, and accuracy of procedures and instrumentation.
- Ensuring the validity of abnormal patient and/or QC results, and taking corrective action as necessary.
- Maintaining inventory and assisting with financial data for the department.
- Providing educational information to internal and external customers.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, or equivalent training and experience.
- MLS certification or equivalent, or categorical certification.
- Basic knowledge of specimen requirements and medical terminology.
- Previous experience with phlebotomy and processing.
