Job Overview
We are seeking a Director of Nursing for our brand new 16 bed inpatient behavioral unit specializing in autistic teenagers with behaviors. The role will be overseeing the behavioral health paraprofessionals and technicians and working along side a interdisciplinary team including psych providers, medical providers, BCBA/ABA's, case management and clinical social workers. This role does require a minimum of 2 years experience with seclusion and restraints and prefer those that have worked with autistic behavioral patients.
This unit is pending licensure with the state of Arizona and estimated opening date is early 2025. Construction is estimated to be completed end of 2024.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health status and medical history.
- Develop and implement personalized care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Monitor patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Administer medications and provide education on their effects and side effects.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, including observations and interventions.
- Provide support to patients and their families, offering guidance on coping strategies.
- Participate in case management activities to coordinate care across various services.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards of practice.
- Engage in shift management to ensure adequate staffing and patient coverage.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:
- Experience leading a team.
- Experience in psych or behavioral setting including a minimum of 2 years in seclusion/restraints.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes related to patient care management.
- Previous experiene working with teen population including autistic behavioral patients.
- Ability to effectively manage shifts while ensuring quality patient care.
