What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Paraprofessional position at Sonoran Schools?

We are looking for dedicated staff who are passionate about student learning and have the ability to impact the whole child.
We are currently recruiting for the following position for the 2024-2025 school year:
Special Education – Paraprofessional
o The successful candidate will be able to perform the following (duties are not limited to these) for students with special needs inside and outside their general education classrooms as dictated by the students' Individualized Education Plans.
o Assist individual students in performing activities initiated by the teachers (help students get started and organizational needs).
o Instructional support for small groups or with individuals while the teacher works with other students.
o Provide interventions/tutoring as directed by supervising teacher
o Assist the ESS teacher and administrators in observing, recording, and charting behavior.
o Assist the teacher with crisis problems and behavior management.
o Carry out instructional programs designed by the teacher.
REQUIREMENTS: Paragon Science Academy complies with the federal requirements for Paraprofessionals. If you meet the requirements in 1 and 2 below, you are considered qualified to work in a Title 1 targeted school.
1. Secondary school diploma or GED AND
2. ONE of the options below:
· Holds an associate’s (or higher) degree OR
· Completed two years of study (equaling 60 or more credit hours) at an accredited institution of higher education ( 100 level coursework and above);
Or
· Obtained a passing score on an ADE-approved assessment:
ETS Paraprofessional Assessment;
ACT Workkeys (requires Writing, Applied Mathematics & Reading for Information)
