Sonrisas Dental Health, Inc. (SDH) is a non-profit dental center dedicated to providing access to quality dental care and oral health education to our community. We provide these services with dignity, respect and compassion. SDH improves the health of our community members through culturally sensitive, integrated care, with a focus on disease prevention. SDH is a dental home for our patients, providing preventative dental care, mobile dental, general dentistry, geriatric dentistry, pediatric dentistry, sedation dentistry and accommodations for patients with special needs and disabilities. Seventy percent of SDH’s patients are low-income.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday 8 AM - 5 PM

About the Position:
The Senior Dental Front Office Care Coordinator will be the first point of contact and will represent Sonrisas Dental Health in a professional and compassionate manner. This role will work with other care coordinator team members and the center's clinical staff to facilitate a calm and efficient experience for patients. Candidates that are reliable and organized with excellent customer service skills are important to the success of this position.
Requirements:- 3 years of Dental Front Office/Clinic experience, including dental billing, dental insurances, and treatment planning/presentation
- Bilingual/Spanish REQUIRED
- Dental Software Experience - OpenDental strongly preferred
- Current computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office - and/or the willingness to learn
- Excellent communication skills, professional appearance and maturity
- Education/Licensure: HS Diploma or GED required
Dental/ Customer Service/ Administrative Support:
- Maintain a friendly and welcoming relationship with all patients. Responsible for answering phones and greeting patients with professionalism and care
- Help to create an atmosphere that ensures the highest quality dental experience for patients
- Participate in the goals of the practice to provide a high standard of quality care
- Work with team to ensure provider schedules are productive
- Provide community resources and referrals for continuing care
- Schedule patient appointments and triage patient concerns over the phone. Process and send patient rescheduling notices
- Ability to prioritize patient, clinic, and provider scheduling needs
- Answer pre-visit questions
- Manage treatment plans. Meet with patients and families regarding treatments, procedures, medications, and continuing care. Discuss cost of service, insurance coverage, and payment options
- Work with patients, patients PCP, or facility to get medical clearances
- Responsible for patient payments, collecting in person and over the phone, providing statements as needed.
- Manage patient accounts
- Accurate balancing of all office transactions
- Verify insurance eligibility and estimate co-pays. Pre-authorize treatment when needed
- Perform quality assurance for appointments and create insurance claims
- Handle all aspects of new patient intake
- Follow up with patients regarding outstanding dental treatment and recalls
- Address all correspondences, via phone, email, messaging, tasks in Open Dental, etc.
