BAR MANAGER
The Sons of Italy Lodge 2786 in Williamsport, PA, is a private, non-profit
organization committed to its members, their families, and the local community.
We offer a welcoming environment that includes a restaurant, kitchen, two bars,
and a banquet room.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Bar Manager to join our team and oversee the
day-to-day operations of our two bars and banquet hall. As a key member of our
leadership team, the Bar Manager will ensure the smooth running of bar services,
contribute to the overall management of our facility, and help provide an
exceptional experience for our members and their guests. You will work closely
with the Club Manager, President and Board of Directors to maintain high
standards of service, safety, and cleanliness. The ideal candidate will bring new
ideas to grow the Club and drive increased revenue.
Key Responsibilities:
Bar Operations Management: Oversee the day-to-day operation of bars,
ensuring quality service, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction.
Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of alcoholic beverages, mixers,
glassware, and other bar-related products. Order stock as needed and
ensure accurate inventory counts, especially for beer, wine, and liquor.
Staff Supervision & Training: Lead, train, and schedule bar staff to ensure
high-quality service. Foster a positive and professional work environment.
Customer Service: Ensure exceptional service to members and guests.
Address customer concerns promptly and professionally.
Compliance: Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations related to
gambling, alcohol service, health, and safety.
Event Coordination: Collaborate with event teams and event coordinators
to ensure the bar is properly stocked and staffed for events, hall rentals, and
fundraisers.
Financial Management: Maintain accurate cash handling procedures,
including daily revenue reporting, managing tips, and preparing for deposits.
Health & Safety: Ensure the bar area meets health, safety, and sanitation
standards. Oversee daily cleaning tasks and ensure compliance with
regulations.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with club manager, kitchen manager,
and banquet manager, and custodial staff to maintain the facility’s overall
operation and ensure smooth interactions between departments.
Qualifications:
Experience: At least 3-5 years of bar management or hospitality
experience, with a proven track record of managing staff and operations in a
bar or restaurant setting, prior Club operations preferred. Experience with
JarTrek Point of Sale system preferred.
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team building,
training, and conflict resolution.
Customer-Focused: Excellent communication skills and the ability to
engage with a diverse range of patrons, maintaining a friendly and
welcoming atmosphere.
Organized: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, including
inventory management, staff coordination, and event planning.
Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of gambling, alcohol service laws,
health, and safety regulations. Must have current Owner/Manager RAMP
certification.
Punctuality & Professionalism: Must set an example for the staff in terms
of punctuality, appearance, and professional conduct.
Availability: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as
required.
