Duties
- Assist in the implementation of patient care plans under the supervision of licensed healthcare professionals.
- Conduct regular patient observations to monitor mental and physical health status.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed, utilizing de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation related to patient care and progress.
- Support patients with daily activities, promoting independence while ensuring safety.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and adjust treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Engage with patients in therapeutic activities that promote behavioral health and well-being.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and procedures within the facility.
Skills
- Strong understanding of psychiatric care principles, including behavior management techniques.
- Experience working in a hospital or corrections facility medical clinic setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in maintaining medical records and documentation standards.
- Ability to effectively perform crisis intervention and manage acute psychiatric situations.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly valued.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with patients and healthcare team members.
