Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in various settings, including Level I Trauma Centers, ICUs, and outpatient facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of respiratory therapy practices, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring, with a focus on delivering compassionate care to patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
Responsibilities
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and respiratory status.
- Provide ventilatory support and manage mechanical ventilation for patients in critical care settings.
- Administer medications related to respiratory care and ensure proper documentation.
- Educate patients and their families about respiratory conditions and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and current practices in respiratory therapy.
- Participate in quality assurance activities and contribute to the improvement of patient care standards.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of physiology related to respiratory function.
- Proficiency in administering treatments for both adult and pediatric patients.
- Experience working in outpatient settings as well as critical care environments such as ICUs.
- Ability to effectively communicate medical information to patients and healthcare teams.
- Familiarity with the operation of various respiratory therapy equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in patient assessments.
