Job purpose
The Inventory Control Specialist (PT) is responsible for monitoring warehouse inventory and performing routine cycle counts to ensure that all SKU’s and locations are properly verified and that reported inventory is accurate.
Duties and responsibilities
- Verifies the accuracy of inventory by cycle counting parts and finished goods on a daily basis (Open cartons, bundles, and other containers to count items to determine quantity on hand)
- Research discrepancies to determine the root cause of the variance prior to reconciling
- Ensure materials are in proper locations. Conduct searches in order to locate misplaced inventory.
- Analyze SKU velocity and consolidate locations.
- Report discrepancies or over/under amounts and any damaged product
- Breakdown boxes and pallets as necessary to fit shelving
- Identify conditions within the facility that are contributing to inventory inaccuracies
- Use RF equipment to complete cycle counts
- Miscellaneous warehouse activities: location consolidation and inventory restocks.
- Identify mistakes/inconsistencies that may affect the overall accuracy of the inventory and report findings
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2 years’ experience of cycle counting in a warehouse environment preferred
- Strong computer skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Must be able to use pallet jack, forklift and order picker. Previous experience preferred
- Self-motivated
- Ability to work under pressure
Safety Requirements
- Must wear closed toed shoes.
- Must wear safety vest.
Physical requirements
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, talk, hear and use feet, hands and fingers to handle products, keyboards and controls. The employee is required to walk and reach with hands and arms, and lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Wage will be determined based on factors such as candidate's experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
