DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
Strategic Sourcing is part of SCA's Finance and Accounting department. The mission of Strategic Sourcing is to align Sony's spend profile with external markets to select, maintain, and manage suppliers for Sony to obtain the maximum value from its procurement activities. Strategic Sourcing works with Sony's business units across the globe to strategize a targeted approach to negotiate with suppliers by collecting and analyzing data from various sources.
POSITION SUMMARY
Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is seeking a part time Strategic Sourcing Intern join the Strategic Sourcing division. This position will be responsible for providing organizational and administrative support to the team to improve efficiency in the team's work process and enhancements in existing Sourcing tools.
This position will be in person 3 times per week on average in the NYC office.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Launch and update the department's internal-facing team sites
Organize and enhance the team's project tracker (optics and functionality)
Build a dashboard that captures department's key achievements while automatically syncing with the project tracker
Create a savings calculator that indicates achieved savings real-time
Prepare draft presentations, Excel spreadsheets, project timelines and trackers
Coordinate meetings with stakeholders and monitor progress of projects
Assist team members in execution of NDAs with suppliers and other documents
Conduct vendor/product/market research
Project management role for Sourcing projects
Provide support in vendor management (e.g. arranging QBRs)
QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
Your qualifications and experience should include:
Proficiency in O365, SharePoint, PowerBI, strong skills especially in Excel and PowerPoint
Experience in data analytics using data analysis tools, e.g. Excel pivot tables
Project management skills
Basic knowledge or experience in Sourcing or Procurement preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with IT products and market
Interest in working in a global media entertainment and technology company
Adaptability
The target hourly rate for this internship is $19.00 per hour. The individual will be paid hourly and eligible for overtime.
