Job Purpose: Gain a deeper understanding of the daily tasks of a Publishing A&R; how to discover & scout new talent /sign a new creative/ coordinate and schedule sessions.
What You’ll Do:
- Research unsigned songwriters and breaking artists via streaming DSPs, and provide a weekly report to the A&R team.
- Help with administrative needs that include, but are not limited to, completing daily tasks for the executive team, allocation of receipts/folios for expense reports, and organizing databases with updated information.
- Upload songs into our PITCH database
- Create information blurbs and release playlists for signed songwriters
- Compile all new releases by US SMP songwriters on New Music Fridays to provide to team
- Listen to demos from SMP songwriters to provide creative ideas for session ideas and pitching opportunities.
- When applicable, attend NY concerts and showcases, as well as studio sessions.
- Passionate and knowledgeable about the music industry and A&R Music Publishing
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
