Job Title: Purchasing Agent
Position Overview: The Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory for aircraft components, materials, and supplies necessary for maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) operations. This role ensures timely procurement of high-quality materials at competitive prices while maintaining compliance with industry regulations and company policies. The Purchasing Agent will work closely with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to support operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Procurement & Supplier Management:
Source and purchase aircraft parts, components, tools, and consumables required for MRO operations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable sourcing and cost-effective procurement.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to optimize cost savings and service quality.
- Maintain an approved vendor list and ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
2. Inventory & Materials Management:
Monitor inventory levels and place orders to ensure adequate stock while minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.
- Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery, reducing aircraft downtime.
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure accurate inventory management and part availability.
- Conduct regular audits and reconcile discrepancies in stock levels.
3. Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure all purchases meet FAA, EASA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, including purchase orders, invoices, and supplier agreements.
- Ensure all parts are accompanied by the required certifications and documentation (e.g., 8130-3, traceability paperwork).
- Adhere to company procurement policies and standard operating procedures.
4. Cost Control & Budgeting:
Analyze and optimize purchasing strategies to achieve cost reductions while maintaining quality.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting material costs based on operational needs.
- Review and approve purchase orders in accordance with budget constraints.
5. Cross-Departmental Collaboration:
Work closely with maintenance, quality assurance, and engineering teams to understand material requirements and specifications.
- Communicate effectively with accounting and finance teams for invoice processing and cost tracking.
- Provide recommendations on alternative sourcing options to support operational needs.
Education Requirements:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Aviation Management, or a related field preferred.
- Industry certifications (e.g., Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)) are a plus.
Skills & Qualifications:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or materials management within an aviation or MRO environment.
- Strong understanding of aviation parts, components, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Work Environment: This position is primarily office-based but requires interaction with warehouses, vendors, and internal departments to ensure seamless procurement and inventory management.

Pay: From $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
