Director of Supply Chain
The Director of Supply Chain role encompasses the planning and management of all activities involved in customer service, resale procurement, inventory management, warehousing, distribution and other management activities. Importantly, it also includes coordination and collaboration with channel partners, which can be suppliers, intermediaries, third-party service providers, and customers. Supply Chain is an integrating function with primary responsibility for linking major business functions and business processes within and across companies into a cohesive and high-performing business model. The Director of Supply Chain will be directly responsible for customer satisfaction and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of our products and solutions.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage Resale Purchasing, Customer Service, Warehousing, Logistics and internal Inventory groups
- Plan, develop, organize, direct, manage and evaluate the personnel, operations and budget of an organization’s supply chain
- Develop analytics, systems, dashboards and data management capabilities
- Direct the hiring, training, supervision, mentoring, and performance evaluations staff
- Understand customers’ needs, service those needs, and maintain and develop positive business relationships with a customer’s key personnel
- Collaborate with staff, other departments, management, and decision makers to share information, problem solve, and to clarify management objectives
- Establish key performance indicators, monitor ongoing performance, and improve performance against set goals
- Develop and implement new systems, best practices, inventory control, demand planning, and other optimizations in order to grow the business
Minimum Qualifications:
- 15 years of escalating experience in Supply Chain
- 4-year degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or equivalent
- Advanced degree (preferred)
Working Conditions and/or Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Ability to travel to satisfy job functions
Reports to the SOPREMA Chief Operating Officer.
