Junior Sales Representative
The Junior Sales Representative is responsible for driving product demand through in-person demonstrations and training at roofing supply houses, distributors, lumberyards, and similar businesses. This role involves initiating customer contact (via cold calls, walk-ins, and prospecting), scheduling and conducting demos, closing sales, and building strong relationships with contractors and customers.
You’ll work from a company-provided vehicle, use Salesforce daily to track activities, and be expected to keep your vehicle maintained, clean, and organized. As the face of our company in the field, you'll become a product expert and maintain strong customer relationships while consistently meeting sales goals.
Comprehensive training on our products and sales process will be provided. Our aim is to set you up for success in this entry-level role and support your growth within the company.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Sales Management:
- Log each sales call and all activities into Salesforce.
- Setup product demonstrations and product knowledge sessions with customers.
- Conduct product demonstrations and product knowledge sessions at customer sites.
- Develop business in your territory and maintain a sales pipeline.
- Build relationships with customers and contractors.
- Prospect for potential customers in your territory.
- Utilize all company provided sales tools.
- Complete expense reports twice a month and treat the company’s money as your own.
- Product Expertise
- Gain in-depth knowledge of our product lines and present our products enthusiastically to customers and contractors.
- Engagement and Brand Representation
- Communicate effectively and positively with customers and contractors, acting as a brand ambassador.
- Promptly and professionally respond to all inbound customer requests including phone calls and emails.
- Sales Coordination:
- Input pertinent customer information into Salesforce.
- Communicate sales promotions, new product launches, and product changes to customers.
- Work effectively with customers to resolve issues regarding shipments, products, or accompanying follow-up activity.
- Company Policies
- Professionally and ethically adheres to company policies.
- Ensure the security of the company’s proprietary and confidential information and material.
- Follow company policies and practices while representing company in an ethical and business-like manner in all interactions with employees and customers.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the National Sales Manager, Sealants and Adhesives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in a customer-facing role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn new tools (e.g., Salesforce).
- Strong communication skills—oral and written English required, Spanish proficiency a plus.
- Self-motivated, driven, and eager to learn with a competitive, goal-oriented mindset.
- Comfortable with daily travel and engaging new people in person every day.
- Outgoing, proactive, and resourceful, with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Ability to grasp technical product details and tailor messaging to different customer needs.
- Excellent follow-up and relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Professional demeanor, demonstrating tact, reliability, and a calm, level-headed approach under pressure.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Demands:
- Frequent travel within a designated territory; must be comfortable driving long distances daily.
- Extensive time spent in a company vehicle—this serves as a mobile office and must be maintained in a clean and organized state.
- Daily in-person visits to customer locations such as roofing supply houses, construction sites, distributors, and pro supply stores.
- Frequent standing, walking, and lifting (e.g., product samples, demo materials—typically up to 25-30 lbs.).
- Exposure to varying weather conditions when visiting outdoor job sites or transporting products.
- May occasionally be required to work early mornings or extended hours to accommodate customer schedules or events.
Reports to the National Sales Manager, Sealants and Adhesives.
