SUMMARY
Manual Machine Operators perform basic machining operations with the guidance of the supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-3 years previous machining experience preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Ability to operate machinery.
- Basic Math: ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions, and decimals.
- Basic computer skills/Microsoft office
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENT
Entry level requirements
- Set-up and operate various pieces of manual equipment (drillpress, turret lathe, grinder, saw, etc.) with minimal supervision.
- Read drawings.
- Must be able to interpret or identify correct bill of material.
- Routine maintenance of equipment.
- Perform inspection of workpiece using gauge equipment.
- Adhere to guidelines and procedures as defined.
- All other functions/responsibilities assigned by the manager.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Level 2 manual machining
- Tooling knowledge and maintenance
- Knowledge of various types of raw materials
- Identify problems with tooling, machine function, and raw materials.
- Able to perform setup of equipment from process instructions.
- Capable of inspection and validation of first piece
- Be familiar with the principles and techniques associated with Lean Manufacturing.
- Capable of development and implementation of machining process. IE, process tooling, work holding, process documentation, and first article validation.
