Description
As a participant in the Sorenson Internship Opportunity Program you will leverage your training and certification as part of a working team. You will do work that is critical to the success of the organization. A manager will guide, mentor and teach you some of the critical elements of your chosen career pathway. You will establish learning objectives that you will pursue as part of your work at Sorenson.
Experience/Education/Additional Info
- Education: Certifications, Technical College, Trade School or currently attending college or recently graduated.
- Duration: up to 6 months
- Office Environment: 100% Remote
Pay: Between $20.00 - $35.00 per hour (Based on Experience, Education, & Location)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Help design and develop applications to automate telephony systems
- Help maintain existing applications
- Follow the established processes utilizing Github, CI/CD, and code reviews
- Follow best practices to develop high-quality products as part of a committed team
- Be prepared to learn these technologies and to dive in to understand them
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Basic understanding of Excel and Word.
- Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- C /Object Oriented programing Principles
- Scripting – Python or XML
- Linux OS experience
- Good organization, analytical skills, and time management skills
- Strong communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of networking principals
- Knowledge of Voice Over IP (VoIP) and Session Initiated Protocol (SIP)
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Punctual and reliable attendance.
- Ability to sit and/or stand at a desk and work with a computer for extended periods of time.
- Positive attitude, team player, good interpersonal communication skills and able to work across company departments.
