Job Summary
The Tech Vendor Management Office Intern will support the Vendor Management team in ensuring effective management of vendor-related activities and relationships. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in vendor governance, negotiations, compliance, and performance management within a fast-paced IT environment. You will establish learning objectives that you will pursue as part of your work at Sorenson.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the evaluation and selection process of technology vendors, including maintaining vendor databases and documentation.
- Support the preparation and analysis of vendor performance metrics and reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure alignment with vendor capabilities.
- Participate in vendor contract reviews to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Help coordinate vendor meetings and maintain communication with external vendors.
- Conduct research on industry trends, vendor market assessments, and best practices in vendor management.
- Assist in developing and maintaining vendor management tools and templates.
- Support the team in identifying areas for process improvements and efficiencies.
- Participate in internal audits and risk assessments related to vendor performance and compliance.
Supervisory Responsibility
- This position does not manage employees.

- Travel Requirements: Less than 25%
Education
- Education: High School Diploma and working toward a bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, or supply chain.
Experience
- Internship Experience: While not mandatory, prior internship or project work related to vendor management, procurement, or IT services a plus.
- Technical Skills: Familiar with basic IT concepts, vendor management processes, and any experience with data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.) can be beneficial
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, organization skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Currently, pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Strong interest in technology vendor management and procurement processes.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with data analysis tools is desired (i.e. Power BI, Zylo, or LogicGate).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong sense of ownership, attention to details, and organizational skills
- Strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to change
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Punctual and reliable attendance.
- Ability to sit and/or stand at a desk and work with a computer for extended periods of time.
- Positive attitude, team player, good interpersonal communication skills and able to work across company departments.
