Sorenson Engineering is seeking a candidate with experience in manufacturing engineering, with CAD CAM development, CNC Programming, and training experience.
Summary:
Purchases machinery, equipment, tools, parts, supplies, raw materials, or services as needed to support SEi’s operational requirements. Maintains physical inventory through Epicor (MRP).
Level II-Intermediate level position issues request for quotes (RFQs), requisitions, and purchase orders for maintenance, repair and operation (MRO), supplies and special purchases as needed.
Level III-Purchases raw or semi-finished materials for production. Responsible for movement of raw materials from receiving to various warehouses, inventory storage locations or production areas. Coordinates outsourced manufacturing services.
Responsibilities:
Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance. Competent in the use of engineering software. Familiar with technical standards, GD&T symbols, statistical quality control, units of measurement, and notation systems. Able to interpret instructions both written and oral. Able to work in a team environment to solve technical issues. Able to communicate technical information effectively in English.
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or a similar field is preferred. A minimum of two years’ experience in engineering and design of progressive stamping die-sets is also preferred. Working knowledge of Bruderer 3 post 30-ton stamping presses is a plus. Five years of experience in a Progressive Stamping manufacturing environment is preferred.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to periodically walk and or travel to other areas of the plant, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with help, must have good eyesight and hand dexterity, and able to identify and distinguish colors.
Work Environment:
Within safety guidelines, there will be exposed to noise, moving mechanical parts, oils/solvents, fumes, and odors that may affect the eyes, ears, nose, throat and/or skin.
