Position Overview

The Staff Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of our real estate and hospitality portfolio. The ideal candidate is a QuickBooks Online expert, with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a proven track record of managing financial operations in a fast-paced environment. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented, self-starter who thrives in a collaborative and entrepreneurial setting.

Position Responsibilities

  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and oversee all aspects of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
  • Accounts Payable: Process and manage all accounts payable activities, ensuring timely payments and collections
  • Credit Card Statements & Bank Reconciliations: Reconcile credit card statements and bank accounts on a regular basis, resolving any discrepancies promptly
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, providing regular updates to senior management and making recommendations for improvement
  • Payroll: Administer payroll, ensuring accurate and timely processing for all employees
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate financial reports to management, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements
  • Compliance: Ensure all financial transactions comply with company policies and relevant regulations
  • Process Improvement: Continuously seek opportunities to improve financial processes and systems, enhancing efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including operations and development, to ensure alignment of financial goals and strategies

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or hospitality
  • Expertise in QuickBooks Online is required
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Google Drive, Dropbox, MIcrosoft Office
  • Experience with PayCor payroll systems and accounting software
