Located on 260 acres along the Colorado River, surrounded by 2,000-foot-high cliffs, buttes, and mesas, Sorrel River Ranch offers unmatched beauty and opportunities for outdoor experiences.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead informative and engaging tours showcasing the natural beauty and adventure opportunities near Moab, Utah. Tours include UTV experiences, hikes and bike tours.
- Provide in-depth knowledge about local destinations and areas of interest, including Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, and other scenic areas. Educate guests on geography, local history, local flora and fauna.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of tour participants throughout excursions.
- Interact with Guests on property to showcase the experience programing and sell adventures.
- Tailor tours to accommodate diverse guest interests and preferences, offering personalized experiences.
- Collaborate with resort staff to promote and coordinate tour offerings effectively.
- Conducting safe trail rides on horseback as well as rides in the barn area.
- Cleaning the corral area and barn, maintaining all tack and equipment, and ensuring the health and welfare of the herd.
- Other tasks as assigned.
EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Wilderness First Responder (WFR) Certification is required prior to start date
- The ideal candidate possesses extensive knowledge of the Moab area or has spent significant time exploring its surroundings.
- Proficiency in operating UTVs is required.
- Experience with guiding individuals and groups is required; experience with private tours is preferred.
- Must have extensive knowledge and experience with horses and previous western riding experience. Some veterinarian knowledge is a plus.
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
