Requirements
Summary of Position Responsibilities:
Sorrell Land Surveying is seeking a Survey Technician I. The Survey Technician I is responsible for performing entry level survey work as part of a survey crew. These responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Cleans survey truck, equipment, and tools.
- Keeps survey truck stocked with necessary supplies and tools.
- Loads and unloads equipment and supplies used by the survey crew.
- Set-up and operate survey equipment.
- Communicate with crew members and office staff to maximize efficiency.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance daily.
- Review or check the work product of others.
- Understand and comply with written/oral instructions in the English language.
- Report information in a standard format.
- Ability to pass a background test.
- Ability to travel is a plus.
Minimum Requirements:
- Travel across rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces at construction sites.
- Move objects between 20-50 pounds long distances (20 feet or more).
- Use a 16-pound sledgehammer.
- Walk distances up to a ½ mile at a time, up to five miles per day.
- Bend or stoop repeatedly.
- Remain in a standing position for extended periods.
- Make continuous or repetitive arm-hand movements.
- Work outside in all seasons/weather conditions.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Basic knowledge of construction, boundary, and topographic surveys.
- College or technical courses in mathematics or surveying are a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required and must be maintained
