What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Maintenance Technician position at Sorting Tab?
We are seeking an experienced CNC Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, a problem-solving mindset, and the ability to work independently while supporting customers and team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform machine leveling, alignment, and troubleshooting for CNC equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues using precision test equipment.
- Disassemble, repair, and rebuild equipment sub-assemblies and components.
- Identify, repair, or replace damaged components and ensure future assembly organization.
- Train customers and junior technicians on CNC operations and maintenance.
- Work with servo systems tuning and parametric programming.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, job-related hours, and expenses.
- Perform light facility maintenance, including electrical work as needed.
- Collaborate with customers, OEMs, vendors, and internal teams to ensure machine functionality.
Qualifications & Requirements:
✔ 5 years of experience in CNC machine tool maintenance.
✔ Associate’s degree in electronic engineering (or equivalent experience).
✔ Hands-on experience with machine tool mechanics, troubleshooting, and repairs.
✔ Ability to read and analyze mechanical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
✔ Intermediate knowledge of parametric programming and ladder logic.
✔ Working knowledge of production processes and programming.
✔ Experience with autoclaves (preferred).
✔ Forklift, Scissor Lift, and Boom Lift training/certification.
✔ Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
✔ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in industrial environments.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
