Pay Rate: $21.00/hr

Shift: Sunday- Thursday 25-30 hours per week

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Part-Time Assistant Cook to join our school kitchen team. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for food service in an educational environment, who can support meal preparation and maintain a clean, organized kitchen. This is a temp-to-hire role with the potential for a long-term position based on performance and school needs. Employer paid clearances and *Valid drivers license required*.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the lead cook in preparing and serving meals according to school and nutrition guidelines
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing kitchen equipment
• Help with inventory control by checking and storing food items properly
• Follow food safety protocols to ensure all meals are prepared safely and hygienically
• Assist in the setup and cleanup of kitchen areas
• Ensure timely meal preparation to support the school’s lunch and breakfast schedules
  
  

Requirements

• Previous experience in a food service role, preferably in a school or cafeteria setting
• Knowledge of basic food handling and preparation
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively with kitchen staff
• Flexibility to work part-time hours, with potential for additional hours during peak periods
• Must pass a background check as required for school employees
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Food handler certification or willingness to obtain one
• Experience working in a team-oriented environment
• Enthusiasm for working with children and being part of a school community
