Principal / Sr. Principal AI Software Engineer – Onsite (Woodland Hills, CA)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal AI Software Engineer to join our team in Woodland Hills, CA . This role offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI technologies and contribute to the development of advanced autonomous systems, pattern recognition, and decision-making algorithms . The ideal candidate will be passionate about AI, software development, and innovative problem-solving.

This is a full-time, onsite position that requires an active Top Secret security clearance .

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement machine learning and AI-driven algorithms for applications such as pattern recognition, target detection, tracking, and decision-making systems.
Design, develop, test, and debug AI software solutions , leveraging C / C and Python .
Prototype and deploy deep learning models using PyTorch, TensorFlow , and other machine learning frameworks.
Optimize AI software performance for real-time and SWaP-constrained environments .
Work with cross-functional teams to integrate AI models into system architectures.
Utilize Git-based version control for software development and configuration management.
Ensure AI solutions meet industry standards, security protocols, and best practices .

Qualifications

This position can be filled at either the Principal AI Software Engineer or Sr. Principal AI Software Engineer level, based on experience and qualifications.

Principal AI Software Engineer :

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 5 years of experience, Master’s degree with 3 years , or PhD with 1 year . (Additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.)

Active Top Secret security clearance .

Proficiency in C / C and Python .

Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow .

Knowledge of deep learning, convolutional neural networks, and AI methodologies .

Experience with Git-based software configuration management tools .

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to execute tasks on schedule.

Sr. Principal AI Software Engineer :

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 8 years of experience, Master’s degree with 6 years , or PhD with 4 years . (Additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.)

Active Top Secret security clearance .

Advanced experience with AI-driven software development, machine learning, and deep learning frameworks .

Experience designing and optimizing AI systems for real-time processing and high-performance computing .

Preferred Qualifications

Background in Agile / DevSecOps software development.

Experience developing AI applications for low-power embedded systems .

Knowledge of Linux, CUDA, GPUs, and parallel computing .

Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

Compensation & Benefits

Principal AI Software Engineer : $133,500 – $200,300 per year.

Sr. Principal AI Software Engineer : $166,200 – $249,400 per year.

Compensation is based on experience, skills, and qualifications .
